Three things we keep separate
Business information
A supplier describes its facilities, products and services. Unless stated otherwise, these details are supplied by the business.
External certification
Certification belongs to the organisation that issued it. Buyers should check the issuing body, facility, scope, certificate reference and expiry date directly with that body.
Evidence review
Where a profile says evidence has been reviewed, this means LeatherIdentity has reviewed the linked information as described on that profile. It does not replace an audit, extend a certificate or establish product-level traceability.
Our launch approach
Applications are reviewed before publication. Missing, expired or unclear evidence will not be presented as current verified certification. We do not currently issue our own certification.
Independent and transparent
LeatherIdentity is not currently affiliated with or endorsed by Leather Working Group (LWG) or other industry certification bodies. References to external schemes identify those schemes only. Future sponsored placements will be labelled and will not change a supplier’s evidence status.
